I have always loved art, and in particular have been drawn to specialise in fine art. The subject area is very broad, which allows me to have a lot of freedom in the way I work. This has helped me expand my practise and develop through uses of different processes and media. I feel right now as if I am at the beginning of my discovery into fine art and my own practise. I want to do this BA in Fine art because I want to discover and develop more. I am really excited to learn new ways of expressing my ideas and be pushed outside of my comfort zone to find my own practise and to start my future as an aspiring artist.
I am an enthusiastic and enquiring person, which motivates me to want to develop myself to become the best I possibly can, I am never happy with not fulfilling my potential to the best I can. This is why I want to pursue my future through doing a BA in Fine art.
At the moment I am doing a project called “Reactive Reaction” within this I was inspired by the repression my female cousins, who live in the Islamic city Mecca, feel. Therefore I started looking at the idea of loss of identity and oppression of women (in particular), from the views of my cousins. This is where the abstract drawings and sculpture come into play. I also did a project about decay, through photography and through trying to emulate decay through different media, and processes. The life drawings show my love of drawing and expressive, free painting. The other drawing shows a few different processes I have developed through my foundation course; blind, left handed and different media drawings.
